I am available at whatever time you need me. Your schedule is my schedule. Typically, this will start 2 to 3 hours prior to the ceremony to capture bridal preparations of hair and makeup etc. If location and time allows I will try to capture groom prep at their location, if not I will capture some groomsmen shots which can be taken at the venue.
I will film all day right through to the first hour of dancing. I basically won’t leave until I feel I have enough footage captured to create the best film I can. I want to showcase your entire day so there’s no hard rule that I need to leave at a certain time although I do need to consider my travel home. For example, If your doing a night-time sparkler shoot, of course I’ll stay for that. Fireworks did you say? I'm there in a heartbeat.
A typical wedding day can be 12-14 hours so it can be a long day so fuelling the tummy to keep me energized would be great, however I don’t expect to sit and have the same meal as your guests. A bar meal will suffice and normally venues are used to catering for videographers and photographers on that basis so discuss that with your venue and they will keep you right.
I have fallen in love with the Panasonic Lumix series of cameras. I love their natural colour profile which is a great platform for me to edit and colour grade and ultimately produce a great cinematic result. I will have 3 of these cameras on the day ensuring I can capture your ceremony, speeches and first dance in multiple angles. I also use high quality Sony audio recorders to capture any audio on the day. Audio is just as important, if not more important than the visual side to a wedding film, a couple can forgive the odd poorly focused shot, but for poor audio, you just don’t go there.
I will be mainly filming weddings throughout Northern Ireland but I’m happy to go further than that. The enjoyment of doing this is getting to see and experience different venues and locations.
My travel expenses are built into all my packages, where the reception venue is located in Northern Ireland. Any further than this and there will be an small charge to cover excess fuel and accomodation if needed. I need to consider my abaility to drive home safely.
Of course, I’d love to, who wouldn’t! However wedding filmmaking is not my only job so I need to factor in taking work leave and family commitments, but feel free to reach out. If the dates align sure let’s get on a plane! If I can, there will be a need for you to cover my travel and accommodation costs. Las Vegas did you say? I'm there in a heartbeat!
Not necessarily, but I think it’s good to have an informal chat over a cuppa or something stronger if you wish, to discuss your big day and get to know each other. We want to be comfortable with each other, and ultimately you need to feel I’m right for you before you make any investment. I know that’s the worst sales pitch ever but it’s true. If meeting in person can’t work, we can always do a video call, but I think putting faces to names is important and helps build relationships.
I require a non-refundable £100 deposit via bank transfer for any of my packages to secure my services for your wedding. The remaining balance should be paid no later than 4 weeks prior to your wedding date.
This is up to you and depends on my availability when you enquire. Some wedding suppliers will have bookings 2 to 3 years in advance, so it sometimes helps to book early to secure your date and will provide peace of mind and also helps you plan the costs of your wedding.
This is of course unfortunate, but it does happen. Life events can throw a curveball and there may be a need to either postpone or completely cancel your wedding.
For postponement, provided I am available for your new date, your deposit will be transferable, and you will pay the agreed package price as normal with final balance due 4 weeks prior to the original date. If I am not available for your new date, the deposit is sadly not refundable.
If you completely cancel, the deposit amount is sadly not refundable at any stage. If you cancel within 4 weeks of the wedding date, the full balance is still due. I will be of course saddened by this happening, but I hope you would understand that I may not be able to secure alternative wedding work at short notice thus affecting planned income. I don’t like having to say that but it’s the way the cookie crumbles, I guess.
I would hope to have your wedding film(s) available within 12 weeks of your wedding. In peak season (May – September) it may be longer than this. Editing is a time consuming process with organising the clips, syncing multiple angle video to the audio clips, colour grading, picking music and all big factors. I also want to get the story telling right and capture the energy of the day and that requires thinking time to be creative.
The cinematic highlights film will last approx. 6-8 mins in length. Really, it’s about how the footage comes together with music and recorded speech to showcase the main highlights of your day and the energy and feel from your wedding will provide a natural pace to the film and when it should end
The feature film will last approx. 45 - 60 mins and will feature the important parts from your ceremony, speeches and first dance interlaced with montages of all the other stuff in between.
I am very proud of my work and wish to keep a copy of your finished films forever. So if you ever lose your final films you can always come back to me.
If you want the raw footage, that can be purchased for £300 and supplied on a USB drive. I plan to keep the raw footage for 2 years post your wedding. After this it will be deleted but I will send you a reminder email 3 months prior to the 2 years expiry if you want to purchase it.
I think it’s important to give your wedding filmmaker full creative control as we like to couple the visuals with music which works best to tell the story of your day. I like to tap into what is said during the ceremony and speeches and frame the film around that.
Fundamentally this is why you’re investing in me from a creator standpoint.
I have a subscription to a music licensing platform which allows me to use music and sound effects copyright free for publishing on my website and to be shared on social media.
Your films will be available via a private online gallery once finished and you can stream, cast to TV and download to your phone or PC/laptop from there. The Full Story Package includes a decorative wooden USB box and you can also get a twinset which makes great gifts for parents and family members.
At the moment no, but will have one for 2025 dates and beyond. It's great for venue establishing shots but should not be overused.
I hope the above answers the main common questions but if you can't find what your looking for then send me a message
